When the moon is ready the twilight witch sends her Stars to tell the sun it's time for Night...
... That was the general idea behind the painting. I loved mixing the warm hues with the blue to create that dusky feel of sundown. I feel that most of my paintings are too simple/empty, hopefully this ones been a step forward.
Not sure how long this one took; it couldn't have been more than 5-8 hours.
I like this character. And the colours are gorgeous.
Critique...It would be nice if the light around the pole and for the border had more of a gradient like the star in her hand. Something about the feet are throwing me off, I think it's the angle of the design on her shoes. The fingers of her hand that's on the wire are lit/foreshortened kind of oddly, or maybe it's the positioning of the hand, either way it doesn't look like she's actually holding onto the wire. And the wires should be curved differently. First of all the one she's sitting on should be lower because it's supporting her weight, secondly, the other ones are curving upwards too soon; the poles aren't that close together so the wires should still be leaning downward with the force of gravity. And the piece of wood going across the pole doesn't have proper perspective. The length on both sides are equal when the one further from the viewer should seem shorter and narrower.
Although her legs and feet look a little awkward, the overall work is quite impressive and cute.
