Happiness is the seasonal air,
Let the warm breezes lessen your cares,
The sun is shining the grass is green,
Open your window and pull down the screen,
Time to put your worries away,
How can you feel down on such a beautiful day?

Yeah, her writing does get better in later books. I definitely love Anita's use of slang and pop culture references.

Well where I've read up to she's only mentioned/written of sex once and that's when Anita runs to Jean-Claude. Wasn't graphic really. My workmate mentions a lot of "experiementation" in the area later on and so I dunno; haven't encountered it yet so I don't know what to make of it. It's not really related to the series though - apart from characters like Raina and Gabriel. I don't think it shoul dplay a big part in it all if it does.

I quite like it so far though; I don't think she's much of a writer as she repeats things far too much and it's all rather plainly written without much illustrative language or anything - she mentions the lack of smell and how murder scenes are better when it's cold in all three of the books I've read (in succession) that are set in winter. I think the characters she's created and the environment is what sells it; I personally, though, quite enjoy the little bits of dry humor in Anita's conversations with herself.

i think i read up to Dance Macabre, but not sure. My favorite is Obsidian Butterfly. I really love Edward. I enjoyed the series, though not so much anymore. As you go along, there is more and more vivid graphic sex which I guess is ok for some readers, but personally I think she's going a little over board and moving away from the story. Iono, just my opinion. What do you think of it so far?

It wasn't Joe :) A workmate has been lending me a ton of his books; Dexter's the latest one along with an Anita Blake.

Not gorey though, which is good.
